本研究主要目的在追溯裴斯塔洛齊的思想淵源；分析裴斯塔洛齊的體育思想內涵及特色；探討裴斯塔洛齊對體育的貢獻與影響。獲致結論如下:
一、裴斯塔洛齊的思想淵源主要來自於，一是生長環境的影響，如成長過程、求學過程、辦教育過程等。二是哲學家的影響，如康美紐斯的人文主義、盧梭的自然主義等。
二、裴斯塔洛齊以體育訓練為中心的體育思想內涵包括:體育與生活相結合、勞動技能與體育活動的整合、運動技能循序漸進的安排、體育教學的全面發展、體育教學方法的創新。
三、裴斯塔洛齊對體育的貢獻，在於確立體育訓練在教育中的功能與地位。其影響後世代表人物有福祿貝爾、赫爾巴特等人；對後世貢獻與影響其體育思想內容包括身體訓練、手工職業準備和其他一切具有實際技能意義的教育。
