　　本研究的目的在於瞭解南投縣國民小學921地震前後運動場地設備器材設置的差異及需求。據以做成結論和建議，提供相關單位參考。
　　本研究以南投縣國民小學151所為調查對象。採自編之「南投縣國民小學921地震前後運動場地設備器材調查表」為研究工具。研究所得結果如下：
一、運動場地狀況
(一)跑道規畫：地震後有愈來愈多學校無設置跑道，或採直線式設計。
(二)種類：地震前共有13種，地震後整建後共有14種。
(三)數量：整建後運動場地的種類、數量共有14種519處，以遊戲場、綜合球場、田徑場數量最多。
(四)地面材質：整建後運動場地材質以水泥面層最多。
二、不同規模運動場地現況
(一)種類：小型學校運動場地有13種，中型學校有13種，大型學校有12種。
(二)數量：平均數量以大、中型學校較多，小型學校最少。
(三)地面材質：各類型均以水泥面層最多，次為PU。
三、運動設備現況設置率、達成率最高均為舞蹈類、依序為其它類、球類、體操類、田徑類、而遊戲類最低。
四、運動場地需求體育館是最被需求的種類，地面材質方面以木質地板為最需求，其次為PU。

ABSTRACT
　　The main purpose of this study is to realize the difference and requirements of the sporting fields, facilities and equipments of the elementary schools in Nantou before and after the 921 Earthquake. The conclusions and suggestions are made accordingly and would like to be offered as a reference to the authorities concerned.
　　In this research, all 151 elementary schools in Nantou were investigated with a self-made “Questionnaire on the Sporting Fields, Facilities and Equipments of the Elementary Schools in Nantou Before and After the 921 Earthquake”. The results of the research are as the followings:
A.The situation of the sporting fields:
1.Planning for tracks: Less and less schools have laid tracks; some has only laid the straight ones.
2.Type: There were thirteen types of sporting fields before the earthquake, and fourteen after it.
3.Quantity: There are total 519 fields in 14 different types. Most of them are playgrounds, courts and athletic fields.
4.Ground material: Most are cement.
B.The situation of sporting fields in different scale:
1.Type: There are thirteen types in the small and medium-sized schools, and twelve types in the large-sized schools.
2.Quantity: The average amounts are mostly in the large and medium-sized schools while the least amounts in the small-sized schools.
3.Ground material: Cement is the most in all types, and PU is the second.C.The situation of sporting facilities:
The highest rate of accomplishment and setting up goes to the dancing facilities. Then comes the miscellaneous facilities, the ball facilities, the gymnastic facilities and the track and field facilities in that order. The lowest goes to the playing facilities.
D.The requirement of sporting fields:
Gyms are mostly required in type.　For ground materials, wooden ground is the mostly required, and PU ground the secondly.
