Abstract
β-羥基-β-甲基丁酸(Beta-hydroxy-Beta-methylbutyrate, HMB)為白胺酸(Leucine)代謝而成的產物,目前廣泛應用在運動員身上做為運動增補劑,以提升肌力、增加瘦體組織提高運動表現等。近年來於動物實驗中亦發現,補充HMB有助於提高骨質代謝作用,進而增加骨骼機械強度與骨密度等特性。目前仍無直接的人體研究探討補充HMB後對骨骼之影響,但在分子生物領域的研究已經證實,補充HMB對調控骨骼代謝的分子機轉有顯著的影響。此外,選手經年累月的練習,往往因高負荷訓練反導致骨質流失,亦可能肇生常造成疲勞性骨折,未來須進一步研究選手補充HMB後,是否減緩因過度訓練而造成的骨質流失現象,甚至提升骨質密度,並探討補充的劑量與時機,是否對疲勞性骨折有正面的助益。
