Abstract
由於國民所得提高、醫藥發達,國人平均壽命也隨之增高,因此用路人中隨處可見中高齡駕駛人口。由於人類視覺能力、認知能力、注意力等會隨著年齡之增加而減弱,為了解中老年人口對交通標誌的偵測能力退化情形,本研究利用電腦視覺模擬技術針對各年齡層受試者進行道路交通標誌的偵測能力研究。研究內容包含標誌的呈現類型、字數、周圍環境光線等,以實驗各因子對中高齡人口偵測距離之影響程度。並依據研究結果提出交通標誌設計建議方案,期以提高中老年人的標誌偵測度,進而使中高齡駕駛人在最短的時間內做正確之反應,以增進道路行車之安全。
Due to the increase of the gross domestic product (GDP) and the high development of the medical science, the average domestic life expediency had been increasing. By observing among the elder and middle-age drivers on the road, we found that the man’s visual capability, cognition and attention had been declined due to the increasing of ages. The study has been adopted the computer visual simulative technology to evaluate the effectiveness of text and icon traffic signs, letter numbers and lighting condition for the middle-age and elder observers by examining their visibility distance toward the traffic signals whether decreasing due
to ages. Therefore, the study proposes a project for the improvement of the design toward traffic signals for the elder drivers to make sure they can respond correctly in the shortest time to improve their safety on the road.
