本研究旨在探討賴氏人格平均型A、偏右型B、偏左型C、左下型D、右下型E之五類與休閒運動偏好之關係，藉以瞭解各休閒運動偏好者的人格，以提供老師對學生之了解。本研究以台灣體育學院九十三學年度入學之大一新生共332名為樣本，採用賴氏人格測驗及休閒運動偏好問卷做交叉分析，以卡方獨立性檢定分析賴氏人格及就讀科系與休閒運動偏好之關係。
　　研究結果發現賴氏人格測驗與休閒運動偏好無顯著關係(p> .05)，全體樣本的休閒運動偏好以球類運動（49.7%）為高；而學系與休閒運動偏好有顯著差異存在（p< .05），體育系、休閒運動學系、運動管理系在休閒運動偏好以戶外運動類項為高；體育舞蹈學系學生在休閒運動偏好韻律運動；競技運動學系及運動健康科學系的學生休閒運動偏好以水上休閒運動為高。
　　本研究共有兩個發現及建議，第一是不同系別的學生，其休閒運動偏好有差異，建議在未來研究上可以針對不同學院、系別來做分析；第二個發現是本次研究中，賴氏人格測驗結果與休閒運動偏好之關係並不顯著，建議未來研究可以參考其他人格測驗工具，進一步探討人格與休閒運動偏好之關係。

Abstract
　　The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the Lai’s five type personality characteristics(Average type；Black-list type；Calm type；Director type & Eccentric type) and recreational sports preferences in order to understand the role of personal characteristics of individuals in specific recreational activity. The samples were freshmen who enrolled in National Taiwan College of Physical Education in 2004, and the valid questionnaires were 332. Instruments of this study were Lai’s Personality Test and Recreational Sports Preferences, which was developed by this research. Data were analyzed by chi-square test to explore the effects of personality characteristics on recreational sports.
　　There was no significance between the Lai’s Personality Test and recreational sports preferences. Results indicated the highest preference in this study was ball game (49.7%), and there were significant relationships between department and recreational sports preferences. The samples from departments of Physical Education, Recreational Sport and Sport Management samples preferred outdoor sports. The Dance department preferred dance, the students of departments of Athletics department and Health Science preferred aquatics.
　　Two findings, and two suggestions. First, students in different departments had different preferences. Hence, this study suggests in further research, different colleges or departments should be included for the purpose of deeper analysis. Thus, further researches regard in the relation between personality and sports preferences should invite more instruments of personality tests to reveal similar correction.
